Introduction:

42 Company, a leading engineering firm, approached our team with a challenge: revitalize their current website and provide a clearer representation of their brand.

Challenge:

Upon initially reviewing the 42 Company website, the messaging was unclear. The design incorporated ambiguous elements which did not provide clear insight into the company's offerings or its target audience. For instance, the website featured a whale and a mouse, references from Douglas Adams' "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy". However, these elements were confusing to users unfamiliar with the story.

Objective:

The goal was to update the website in a manner that retained elements resonating with the brand's ethos while making the content more accessible and engaging for the target audience.

Solution:

Our design lead, Pelumi, embarked on a journey to ensure a balance between the brand's identity and clear messaging. He even went the extra mile by familiarizing himself with "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" to ensure the redesign was aligned with the brand's vision.

Key features of the redesigned website:

  1. Spaceship Element: Introducing a playful spaceship that moves around, adding interactivity and engagement to the website.
  2. Updated Assets: The whale and mouse were reimagined and integrated in a manner that visually narrated a story, making it clearer and more relatable.
  3. Interactive Scrolling: As users scroll, assets move, creating a dynamic user experience.
  4. Clean Design: The updated site boasts a clean design that's easy to navigate, with clear messaging about the company's services.
  5. Custom Avatars: The website incorporated unique avatars for the company owners, adding a personal touch and differentiating the brand from competitors using generic stock images.

Outcome:

The redesigned website offers an immersive user experience. The transformation from the original design to the new one ensures that the brand's story is told more effectively, and the messaging resonates with the target audience. The site is not only visually appealing but also clearly communicates what 42 Company stands for, making it easier for potential clients to understand the company's value proposition.

Conclusion:

Redesigning a website to align with a brand's identity while ensuring clarity for the target audience can be challenging. However, with dedication, creativity, and an understanding of the brand's core values, it is possible to create a design that not only resonates with the audience but also effectively communicates the brand's message. The 42 Company website redesign serves as a testament to this.
